Mary Kenney, a former vice-director of narrative at Insomniac Games, has announced that she will be joining CDPR as a senior writer. This decision has caused concern among many gamers.
Kenney is known to be a supporter of Sweet Baby Inc., and she has been actively defending the company on Twitter for quite some time now. In fact, she tweeted about it for 12 consecutive times, stating that "some people seem to not understand how game storytelling consulting works," but she assured everyone that they should not worry because she knows all about it.
Recently, during an interview with Dual Shockers in May, Kenney expressed her belief that the gaming industry needs to do everything in its power to promote LGBTQ+ agenda: "According to GLAAD's report, gaming is a social activity for the LGBTQ community. However, it also reveals a heartbreaking fact - LGBTQ players feel like developers don't consider them while designing their games."
"Many LGBTQ developers exist today who want what we want - to create an experience where players feel like they're valued,' Kenney continued. 'We need to utilize every tool possible in order to achieve this goal."
